Mr. Wheat is a founding member of Pediatric Home Healthcare. He has served as a Member of the Advisory Committee and the Board of Managers since the inception of the company.

Mr. Wheat maintains a private law practice in Corpus Christi, Texas advising governmental entities, businesses and individuals in ad valorem tax, real estate, transactional, litigation and business-related matters. He is a Fellow of the State Bar of Texas, a Member of the College of the State Bar and member of the Corpus Christi Bar Association.

Mr. Wheat attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and went on to receive his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Mr. Wheat began his law career in Alice, Texas, moving to Corpus Christi, Texas to join the Kleberg Law Firm. He was elected shareholder in 1993 and managing director in 1995.

Mr. Wheat has served as President of the Alice Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors for the Alice Country Club. After his move to Corpus Christi, he served as the co-host of the 1996 Cattle Baron celebration for the American Cancer Society. Mr. Wheat has served as President of the Corpus Christi Country Club and served on their board for a number of years. Mr. Wheat was also a member of Class Eighteen of Leadership Corpus Christi and served as a board member for the organization for five years. Mr. Wheat served as a Board Member and President of the Corpus Christi Little League and served as member of the Foundation for the Church of the Good Shepherd for three years.

Mr. Wheat has served as a Board Member of the Texas Tech University Foundation and Board Member of the Chancellors Council at Texas Tech University.
